From its earliest days, Freemasonry has been concerned with the care of orphans, the sick and the aged. This work continues today. In addition, large sums are given to national and local charities. The Salvation Army expresses its faith through charitable action by working at the heart of communities across the UK and the Republic of Ireland. We have 750 community churches and social centres where we offer friendship, practical help and support to some of the most disadvantaged people in our communities.
Motivated by our Christian faith we offer practical support and services to all who need them, regardless of ethnicity, religion, gender or sexual orientation. Our work includes:
Homelessness, Modern slavery, Poverty, Addiction, Influencing social policy, Older people, Community - debt advice, unemployment, isolation
